Reclaimed, Repurposed, Recycled, Reimagined
All of our champagne bottles are sourced from local bars, restaurants, events (and friends!). In Australia, 1.36 million tonnes of glass containers are dumped each year. Most restaurants throw their champagne bottles in the bin or a glass-crusher. Our mission is to save these beautiful vessels and give them a bright new life.
After collecting the bottles, they are cut to size and hand-polished to a super-smooth finish using a special technique.
After the polished bottles are cleaned, we attach wooden wicks to the bottom and hand-pour small batches of candles using NatureWax, a 100% soy wax that produces a much cleaner burn than traditional paraffin wax and is used by professional candle makers around the world.
Our candles are ready for their new homes. Because we are using real champagne bottles that have been reclaimed, some of the glass and labels may have minor imperfections. This doesn’t affect the functionality of the product and adds to the authenticity and charm.
They are perfectly imperfect.
Glass bottles and containers can be recycled over and over again without any loss of quality. Once your candle has burned down, leave approximately 0.5cm of wax in the bottom of the container. When your candle is cool, place it in the freezer overnight and the remaining wax will pop out. The empty container can then be used as a container for flowers, makeup supplies, pencils, plants, etc. The possibilities are endless.
